Four Top Tips for the Groom!

Whether you’re getting married in the next few weeks and are feverishly searching the internet for last minute romantic quotes to whisper into the ear of your soon-to-be wife, or else organizing and planning for your wedding next year, as the groom, you’re one of the main attractions.

So, in an effort to calm your nerves and to help you to check off some of the lesser-known tasks and responsibilities on the biggest day of your life, here are four top tips for the groom.

Eat a Hearty & Filling Breakfast

If you can’t enjoy a couple of drinks or more on your wedding day, then when can you? However, it’s also important to make sure you line your stomach well, not just to soak up the alcohol but also to ensure that you look healthy and bright in your wedding photographs.

For the groom who’s running late (just make sure you arrive at the altar at least fifteen minutes before your bride!), if you have no time for a bowl of porridge and fruit, at least drink a fruit smoothie before you leave the house, or even eat a protein bar on the way to the venue.

Focus on the footwear

A great deal of time and effort is always spent on matching the groom’s outfit with his groomsmen and finding the perfect suits for the occasion, and unlike with the bride, shoes are often an afterthought.

As the groom, your shoes express your style, personality, and furthermore, they’re also the focal point of your whole outfit as you marry your beautiful bride-to-be.

This, however, doesn’t mean that you need to spend the whole day and evening in uncomfortable footwear, which is why the eye-catching and striking comfy Bowhill and Elliot slippers are the dream shoes for you.

Avoid Using Your Phone

Even if you’re usually permanently attached to your mobile phone, your wedding day is the one time you should be avoiding using it, and ideally, you should leave it in the hotel room so you’re not tempted to check your socials.

Your wedding day will flash by in the blink of an eye, so to try and preserve your memories of key moments, you’ll want to remain present and living in the moment as the groom.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep the Night Before

A simple yet highly productive thing to remember on the eve of your wedding day is, no matter how much you’re tempted by your groomsmen to head down to your local for a couple of beers until the early hours, to make sure you get to bed at a reasonable time.

Far from being boring and letting the lads down, a good night’s sleep will allow you to make the most of every second of your wedding day. When it comes to the evening of your wedding day, instead of wanting to head to bed, you can drink, dance, and celebrate your union together with your friends and family into the small hours.
