Planning to sell your home? If so, you may already be looking for the best ways to make your home look as appealing as possible to potential buyers. Doing this will make it significantly easier to get the resale price you’re expecting.

When you’re getting your home ready for resale, the first thing you should always do is use the services of the skilled real estate agents Langwarrin locals rely on for home sales. Estate agents are not only experts when it comes to buying and selling homes, but they also know how to stage homes for resale. This post explores the key benefits of staging your home for resale.

    What is Home Staging?

Typically, the concept of home staging refers to displaying and arranging your furniture and internal décor in a way that highlights your home’s best features. The goal of this is to showcase the space available and make your home more appealing to prospective buyers.

The staging process involves using your existing décor and even borrowed accessories to improve the overall look of the home. Estate agents often use professional home stagers with experience in staging your specific type of home.

Put Your Home’s Best Foot Forward

Staging your home has many positive benefits and making a few simple changes can speed up the selling process. Since many of these tips can be implemented without denting your budget, you and your estate agent will be able to stage your home without too much effort. Here’s what we suggest.

    1. Hire a Real Estate Agent

We’ve already mentioned this, but it’s important to mention it again. Hiring a real estate agent will make the buying and selling your home simple. With their industry expertise, they can offer you the following:

    • Skilled knowledge of the estate market
    • Access to skilled contractors to assist with minor repairs
    • Knowledge of the best places to list your property as well as a list of people looking for specific types of homes
    • Expert negotiation skills for getting you the best price
    • Access to networks that can help you market and sell your home
    • Local market knowledge to use current trends to buy and sell more effectively
    1. De-clutter and Clean Your Whole House

The number one pointer to remember when you’re preparing your home is that you’re selling space. Potential buyers can’t be interested in your space if it’s hidden under clutter. With this in mind, give your home a massive declutter before you list it for sale.

Cupboards and storage spaces should be cleared out as the goal is for prospective buyers to see the available storage. Once you have decluttered, launch a massive spring clean where everything from ceiling to floor is cleaned.

    1. Add More Natural Light

Homes look more appealing if they have more natural light flowing through them. Be sure to open blinds and curtains to make rooms look bigger and brighter.  Add curtain tie-backs to keep your curtains as open as possible, without looking untidy. If your rooms still look dark, it’s a good idea to create ambient light by adding lamps or switching the main lights on during the viewing.

    1. Create a Good First Impression

A good first impression will go a long way toward making your home inviting. Do this by following the following tips:

    • Remove seasonal decorations and any toys or excessive accessories standing around.
    • Get rid of any empty pot plants, especially on the porch or area near the front door.
    • Make sure the entrance to your home is neat and inviting.
    • Use fresh flowers, welcome mats and lamps to make your porch more appealing.
    1. Move Excessive Furniture Out of the Way

Prospective buyers shouldn’t have to climb over your furniture to see what your home has to offer. Avoid this by moving excessive furniture out of your home and focusing on showing off as much space as possible. Remember, it’s not your furniture on show.

    1. Create a Warm Ambience in Your Home

On the day of your home’s viewing, you’ll want to create a warm and inviting ambience. This includes adding fresh flowers on tables and a few randomly placed accessories that add to your home’s stylish look.

An old estate agent trick is to bake biscuits on the morning of the showing. Ideally, you want to opt for a simple recipe that has cinnamon or vanilla in it. The reason for this is that these two ingredients create a homely smell in your kitchen!

Be sure to do this just before prospective buyers arrive. Who won’t love a home that smells like fresh biscuits? Alternatively, if you don’t have an oven, you can also boil a small pot of water with a few drops of essential oil about 20 minutes before your viewers arrive.

    Final Thoughts

Remove the struggle of trying to sell your home by arranging effective stagings when you invite prospective buyers for viewings. Use the tips shared to highlight the positive attributes of your home. Doing this will make it easier to make the sale process quick and easy.
